Cost-Reducing Optimization on Armor Tape Thickness of Metal Interlock Armored Cable

    • Affected by China-US trade friction, the export share of metal interlocking armored cable has declined significantly, so how to deal with adverse factor and improve competitiveness is crucial.Different forming structures of the armor layer in aluminum alloy chain armored copper conductor cable were analyzed.Tensile strength and elongation of aluminum alloy strip for armor layer were also adjusted. On the premise of meeting product standards and production process requirements, the thickness of armor strip used in the product was reduced, and samples were trial-produced by the combination of different forming structures and aluminum alloy strips.Through tensile test, room temperature compressive test, room temperature impact test, flexibility test, and tightness test of the samples, appropriate combination was finally determined, which could expand the international market of metal interlocking armored cable and provide reference for cost reduction and efficiency increase of the cable.
